Curry dumplings

Ingredients
  •     For the sauce:
  •     3 tbsp oil
  •     1 2 cm cinnamon stick
  •     10 cloves
  •     1 onion, chopped
  •     2 garlic cloves, chopped
  •     5 cm chopped ginger
  •     1 tbsp curry
  •     2 tbsp ground coriander seeds
  •     1 teaspoon chili powder
  •     200g carrots, cut into pieces
  •     Salt
  •     For the dumplings:
  •     750g ground beef
  •     1 chopped green chilli
  •     3 tbsp chopped coriander
  •     1 teaspoon garam massala
  •     1 egg, beaten

Preparation

STEP 1 Heat the oil in a large frying pan, add the cinnamon, cloves and fry for 30 seconds, then brown the onion, turning occasionally.

STEP 2 Add garlic, ginger, curry, coriander, chilli, salt, and let fry 2 min over low heat, adding 1 to 2 tablespoons of water if the mixture becomes sticky.

STEP 3 Add the tomatoes and their juices. Cover, simmer while the meatballs are being prepared: mix all the ingredients and salt.

STEP 4 Form 40 nut-sized dumplings. Slide them gently into the sauce, in a single layer, and simmer gently for 30 minutes, turning carefully every 10 minutes.
